Membership

Membership in West McNichols Business Association (WMBA) is a commitment to growth—both individually and collectively. It brings together business owners and operators who are serious about building, contributing, and advancing the economic strength of the corridor.

Members are expected to actively engage—by participating in initiatives, building relationships, supporting fellow businesses, and contributing to a culture of collaboration and professionalism. WMBA is a working network, not a passive affiliation.

In return, members gain access to a powe
rful ecosystem of connection and opportunity. This includes direct engagement with other business owners, access to programming and events, visibility within the corridor, and opportunities to collaborate with community partners, institutions, and leaders.

What WMBA membership provides

Membership also creates proximity to information, resources, and relationships that are often difficult to access independently. From business education to cross-sector partnerships, members are positioned to move with greater clarity and confidence.

Ultimately, membership is about alignment—being part of a collective effort to strengthen businesses, expand opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth and impact of the West McNichols business corridor and the entire city of Detroit.

How do we work?

You don’t step into a system—you step into a network already in motion.

It starts with a conversation. Not a transaction. Not a pitch. A real exchange about what you do, what you need, and where you’re going.

From there, you’re introduced—intentionally—to people, opportunities, and environments that align with your business and your direction. You begin to show up, participate, and build visibility within a community that is actively working, building, and growing together.

As relationships develop, so does access. Access to insights. Access to collaboration. Access to opportunities that don’t exist in isolation.

Over time, your role becomes more than participation—you become part of the ecosystem itself. Contributing. Connecting others. Strengthening the very network that supports you.

This is not a one-time interaction.
This is ongoing engagement that compounds.
